About This Spot

Stepping into Shirley’s Kitchen feels like being welcomed into a warm, familiar embrace. Nestled on Main Street in Pembroke, this restaurant carries the inviting charm of a cozy neighborhood spot where exposed brick walls meet a bright, open dining area. The atmosphere hums with a relaxed, easygoing energy—whether you’re settling in for a quiet breakfast or catching up over coffee with friends, it’s a place that makes you want to linger.

The vibe is amiable but unhurried, with the gentle clatter of plates and soft murmur of conversations blending into the background. Toward the back, a tucked-away bar offers an alternative spot to savor the morning buzz or unwind a little later in the day, reminding you that Shirley’s is not just a meal but a small moment of community.

The menu here is thoughtfully playful, weaving together comforting classics with creative twists that surprise and delight without overwhelming. Imagine a sausage gravy gently cradling a cornbread waffle, or the vibrant flavors wrapped up in a garden-inspired omelette that feels both fresh and familiar. There’s an evident care in each plate served—as though the kitchen is mindful of the people coming through the doors, eager to share a taste that feels like home but with a spark of something new.

Guests often leave with more than a satisfied appetite; they carry away little sensory echoes—the aroma of perfectly cooked home fries, the sweet warmth of cinnamon-spiced French toast, or the lively kick of jalapeño hollandaise under soft eggs Benedict. It’s this attention to detail and balance that shapes the feeling of Shirley’s Kitchen into something quietly special.

Whether you’re local or haven’t yet made the trip to Pembroke, Shirley’s Kitchen invites you to slow down, savor a thoughtfully crafted breakfast or brunch, and settle into the genuine rhythm of a place where every visit feels a bit like coming home.

I’m so glad we finally got to try Shirley’s! It’s super cute inside with exposed brick and a wide open eating area. There’s also a bar in the back where you can sit. We got right in on a Saturday morning around 8. The server came right over for a drink orders, they have all the usual suspects. There were honestly three or four things on the menu that I wanted to try, but I settled on the veggie omelette to which I added ham for $4. We also had french toast, bacon and scrambled eggs at the table. The dishes come with gigantic homefries and toast. Service was great, food was great, and we even got to meet Shirley. We will definitely be going back. Went back today, 8/16 for the Tot Breakfast….delicious

The food was amazing. My husband and I would have liked the Kimchi a little spicier, but understand the chef is catering to a diverse group. We will go back and will recommend to friends.

Wow just wow. You walking and the aroma of the food just awakens your senses. We ordered the Brusket Bomb omelet and the Scotty Too Hottie omelet. The array of flavors wrapped onto the omelet is amazing!!! They are opened Wednesday-Sunday. If you are not local it's definitely worth the trip!!!!

This was a “shut your mouth” amazing experience. I wanted to have a momma’s breakfast before Mother’s Day so I searched for diners that would be easy for all of us to get to. I’m so happy I found Shirley’s. I am a huge Irish Benny snob and hot damn was it incredible. I asked our server not to judge me because I was going to order multiple items so I can taste a variety and then bring everything home. I ordered the Elvis pancakes, Irish Benny, and biscuits and gravy. Each one made my mouth water and my tastebuds beg for more. I’m beyond impressed and will make the trip again and again. My goal will be to try everything on the menu. Bravo Shirley’s.

Delicious breakfast, choice of American style or Korean. Best home fries I've had in a long time! Innovative selection. I had eggs Benedict on a cornbread waffle with pulled pork and jalapeño hollandaise. I would have it again if there weren't so many other tasty menu items

I am absolutely stunned. I haven't met a staff who loves their job and the restaurant more in my entire life. They were so welcoming laughing constantly and making everyone feel like regulars. Every single person had a favorite that was different than the other.. I must say they weren't wrong. What ever you get I'm sure you'll love it. The meals were beyond fantastic. Wanted to order more food just to take it to go. The breakfast is a twist on the classic. Giving you a complete different taste then you used to. I'm sad it took me 2 years to come here. I apologize to the owners cause this is legit the best breakfast I had in a while. Live in the same town and haven't made it out this way.. Already planning to figure out how to try their lunch menu. The staff made my son a a smiley face with whip cream when he asked for some on his waffle.. I can't say enough about this place. One thing is bring a sweatshirt or jacket if you eating in the winter. When door opens gets little cold. Especially for the little ones.

Great food, excellent service. Had a great time at this gem while visiting the greater Concord area. Churros pancakes for the win. Biscuits and gravy, omelet, be&c on sourdough. Locals seem to love it, too.

Incredible breakfast spot!! Amazing food, the Biscuits and Gravy and Salted Caramel Churro Cakes are both must haves!! Staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean. Beautiful decor and happy atmosphere. I will definitely coming back and I can’t wait.
